Finding a sneaker to take you from city strolls to airport runs and actual workouts is no easy feat. There are a lot of options out there, and not all of them live up to the hype. I learned this the hard way after my all-time favorite shoes were discontinued. What followed was a full-blown shoe grief spiral. Everything I tried felt bulky, gave me arch pain, or just wasn’t cute.

Then I slipped on a pair of the APL TechLoom Breezes. Before I even did the awkward shoe store walk test, I knew. They had that feather-light, almost-barefoot feel I loved—while still being supportive and stylish enough to wear literally anywhere. And, more than 10 pairs later, I’m still obsessed.

The TechLoom Breeze isn’t just a running shoe—it’s what APL calls “the ultimate intersection of luxury and performance.” For once, that marketing claim checks out. The silhouette is sleek. The support is featherlight but real. And they work for everything: travel days, HIIT workouts, long walks, and even the occasional night out. They’re unisex, too—just adjust your sizing.

To date, I’ve worn mine to run a 10-mile race in Sydney, hike Machu Picchu, and explore cobblestones and trails across Greece, England, Iceland, and Panama—not to mention multiple wellness retreats in Mexico and Grand Cayman. They’re part of APL’s core collection for a reason: they adapt to whatever terrain or schedule you throw at them.

Back home in LA, I aim to hit at least 10,000 steps a day—and these are still the only sneakers I reach for. They’re comfy enough for long walks, cute enough to wear to brunch, and light enough that I never have to overthink them when packing. I gravitate toward white or neutral colorways since they go with everything, and despite what you’d think, even the light shades are easy to keep clean. They’re machine washable and air-dry beautifully.

Also, can we talk about airport security? There’s nothing worse than fumbling with laces in a TSA line. Years ago, I dropped and shattered my laptop in that exact scenario (a moment I’ve since dubbed laptop-gate). I have PreCheck now, thankfully, but even before that, the TechLoom Breezes were my go-to travel shoe because they slip-on easily—even if you’re the type to ignore your laces (sorry, Mom!). Now she’s a convert, too.

At just 6.8 oz (less than half a pound), they’re so light, I forget I’m wearing shoes. The stretchy knit upper molds to your foot for a custom fit, and the outsole grips well on pretty much any surface. Whether I’m hiking or running errands, I never have to think twice about them.

    Travel + Leisure

After ten pairs and countless miles, I can confidently say the APL TechLoom Breeze is the sneaker for travel, workouts, and everyday life. They’re stylish, practical, and truly built to keep up—no matter where you’re headed next.

Of course, the TechLoom Breeze isn’t the only APL sneaker worth trying—here are a few more bestsellers that might just earn a spot in your suitcase, too.
