    DreamWorks’ “How to Train Your Dragon” held on to the top spot at the South Korean box office for a third straight weekend, grossing $1.5 million from 213,525 admissions.

    Its cumulative earnings now stand at $9.4 million with over 1.28 million tickets sold, according to KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council.

    Pixar’s “Elio” launched in second place with $1.4 million and 212,011 admissions from 1,110 screens. The film has earned $1.7 million after five days in release. Not far behind was horror sequel “28 Years Later,” which debuted in third with $1.1 million and 176,946 admissions. The Danny Boyle-directed film, a follow-up to “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later,” has a total of $1.5 million.

    Local film “Hi-Five” slid to fourth with $967,469 and 139,463 viewers. Its total now stands at $11.6 million from over 1.7 million admissions.

    “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” dropped to fifth with $531,583 and 71,916 admissions. The Tom Cruise-led action film has collected $23.4 million in Korea. “The Pact” followed in sixth with $440,273 and a running total of $4.8 million. Japanese animated film “Magic Candies” added $45,535 for $402,001 to date.

    New entry “Queer,” directed by Luca Guadagnino and starring Daniel Craig, landed in eighth place with $78,737 from 10,546 viewers. Vietnamese thiriller “Detective Kien: The Headless Horror” debuted at No. 9 with $41,092.

    Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” rounded out the top 10 with $34,952, pushing its total to $3.2 million.

    The top 10 films earned $6.8 million over the June 20–22 frame, up slightly from $6 million the week before.
